Under the Labour Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, one parent or guardian of a child under three years of age working for a budget-funded organisation must have working hours not exceeding 35 hours per week.

The guarantee is provided to one person performing family responsibilities.
An employee working reduced hours must be paid at the rate established for a corresponding employee working full hours.
For a parent or guardian working for a non-budget-funded employer, reduced working hours may be established by:
A pregnant woman, one parent of a child under fourteen years of age or a child with a disability under sixteen years of age, and a person acting in place of the parents may only with their written consent:
The employer must inform the employee in advance of their right to refuse such work or a business trip.
A pregnant woman or a woman with a child under three years of age may be assigned to night work only if there is a medical opinion confirming that the work poses no threat to the life or health of the woman and the child.
Written consent alone is insufficient: where a medical opinion is required by law, the employer may not assign the employee to night work without it.
