Assessment of housing need

Targeted assistance may be provided to low-income women, women with disabilities, single mothers, women in difficult social circumstances and women who need better housing conditions.

The assessment may consider:

  • absence of residential property owned by the woman or her family;
  • residence in rented or uninhabitable accommodation;
  • several families sharing one dwelling;
  • a medical condition requiring a separate room;
  • the family’s income and social circumstances.

Available support

Support may include:

  • a subsidy covering part of the mortgage down payment and interest expenses;
  • partial rent compensation through the Women’s Register;
  • assistance with housing repair costs;
  • other housing support available under specific programmes.

An application for a mortgage subsidy may be submitted through a Public Services Centre or my.gov.uz during the period established by the relevant state programme.

Recognition as a person in need of housing does not guarantee a free or priority apartment. The bank separately assesses the applicant’s ability to repay the mortgage.

The procedure is governed by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 285, Resolution No. 182 and Resolution No. 145.
